Frequently Asked Questions
(about the ECPM DownEastCon 2024)
Q: Do I have to be an IPMS member to register for the DownEastCon and enter models in the contest?
Zoltar says: No, anyone is welcome to enter.
Q: Must I pre-register?
Zoltar says: We would prefer it. Our space, while beautiful, is limited and we would not wish anyone to be left out. Preregistering also helps us to gauge space requirements and allows us to accurately manage category space allowances. ALSO, we offer a discount ($) for preregistering.
Q: What is the cost of registration/entering?
Zoltar says: So glad you asked. Early, online registration for the low, low price of $13. Registering in person at the door will be $15. Either way you can then participate in the contest entering up to 10 models, (See rules for details, button at left).
Visitors general admission, $5 individual, family pass (up to 3 members) $10
Q: Can I bring models for display only and not for competition?
Zoltar says: No. Our space is limited. (See pre-register question above) Only models entered in competition may be put on the tables.
Q: How many models can I enter?
Zoltar says: A maximum of 10. That is in paragraph 2 of the rules, we suggest you download and read them. (They are available for download just to the left.)
Q: When can I pick up/pack up my models?
Zoltar says: You may retrieve your models following the awards presentation on Saturday afternoon. If models are removed prior to awards placement on Saturday afternoon, the DownEastCon host is not responsible for making contact with missing winners or shipping of the awards.
Q: What if I forget to pick up my models after DownEastCon?
Zoltar says: DON’T ! The DownEastCon host is not responsible for making contact with the owners of missing models or shipping those models back. All models and/or packing materials left behind will be disposed of by the Convention Center cleaning staff.
Q: Do I have to stay at the DownEastCon recommended hotels?
Zoltar says: No, the hotels are offered as a convenience to our modelers, you are free to make your own arrangements. We are working on a block of rooms at a discounted price for attendees.
